I voted this challenge and gave your photo a 5. It met the challenge. But it didn't engage my interest. The notion of selective desat is to focus my attention to where it would not have been focused naturally. The chicks are the natural focus, desat or not, so it doesn't really work in that regard.

Additionally, you haven't really offered me an emotional payload for looking. You have the tech skills to pull this off. Work on the subjects and what you are trying to say and your scores will improve.

Ww, that looks as though it has seen a number of cooks in its life time! I like the straightforward composition, and monotone was a good choice to show off the textures of the metal and wood.
