Old faithfulby keoneComment by bspurgeon: I really enjoyed this until I saw the vignette. Too much IMO, takes away from the image in the manner it is applied here. |

Old faithfulby keoneComment by L2: OMG - a Ford Farmall was the first thing I ever learned to drive. Please PM and tell me the year - looks like maybe c. 1959? My grandfather had the lags for the back wheels. Oh, this is a fantastic memory for me, so you get a 10. |

Old faithfulby keoneComment by K3Master: Ol' Frederick stood in the field that he had once tended with such care, in his younger days. He stood there, and surveyed his surroundings, with a tear in his carburetor and a bend in his axle, and knew that his days were done. They'd foreclosed on his farm. He had done everything he could to save it, but it was just a sign of the times. For 40 years he had worked this place. For 40 years he had provided for his family, the village, and had had enough to sell at the fair every year. Those times, however, were gone. Now it was all technology and corporations and time moving on.
He stood there and sighed, and a bit of smoke escaped his pipe, and he turned to go. To go and stay in the yard where all the old and disused tractors go. To live out the end of his life amongst his own, his dignity forgotten, his respect lost.
Such is the way that time moves on, sometimes. |
