Good composition, color, and reflection. Herons can be very flighty so you either did a good job to get so close or have a large lens.

Good muted coloring. The image seems a little soft but I can still see the texture in some of the feathers. Owls are known for their big eyes and it is one of their definiing features. In this shot the eyes are very dark and receded and you cant really see them. As this was an advanced challenge, cloning out the two branches on the right may have helped a little too as they seem to be growing out of the owl's back.
