photo_gadgetComment by ericwoo: Hey there from the Critique Club
First off, always try to include some info about the shot in the Photographer's Comments section. It really helps out when we know what the photographer was thinking and what equipment/lighting/etc. were used, especially when you request a critique. Secondly, welcome to DPC and congrats an a pretty good scoring first entry.
Camera Work/Technical: Everything looks nicely focused, and the depth of field that you chose works very well with this photograph. Your chosen WB also works very well in this shot. Keeping the ISO low also kept noise out of the image.
Lighting: This is wonderful lighting for this image. It looks like a night shot with the stained glass nicely lit from the inside. No detail is blown out or lost in darkness.
Composition/Content: This is an interesting angle that you chose. It is a great departure from the typical centered church shot. I would, however, like to see more of the door frame on the right side. I think that chopping it off chopped off a bit from your score as well. It gives it a more accidental look than intentional.
My Opinion: I think that this is an admirable first entry score for DPC. As you will learn, DPC voters like certain types of images. You can look back through challenges and see that most of them share many qualities. I look forward to more entries from you, and I anticipate from your eye that your scores will continue to climb.
