Don't understand this photo and it's relationship to the theme. It certainly is original.

WOW! I don't look at the member challenges that closely since I can't vote on them. I must've missed this one. I love the lines and colors. It looks like a painting. I really don't understand the low score - especially from members. I thought they were supposed to have better taste and appreciate more artistic photographs. I guess it's those "does not meet challenge" votes dragging you down. Without the comment, it is really hard to guess what the connection is to the challenge.
First thing I would change though is that blue shadow on two sides. It just isn't needed, and looks bad IMO.
I like this close-up sort of crop of the interesting lines and texture, but I'd like to see a version showing more of the rock (at the top). Was this cropped out of a larger shot? Show more of the surrounding and it'll be less abstract - might do better on dpc anyway.
I love it though. Beautiful color.

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Children make great photo subjects... especially for the 'cliche' challenge. The pose you selected for this shot also works very well to show some good emotion with the child.

The white balance on this shot seems to be a little strange. There is a good amount of yellow cast from your light source on the subject and on the background. If the camera would not correct this on its own, maybe a little bit of desaturation of the yellow channel in photoshop would correct this for you.

The bit of 'catch light' in her eyes is a nice element :)

The border on this shot is a bit overpowering for me. Your border creates strong contrasts in the image and they attract my eye away from the subject. I understand the effect of 'film' that you were trying to create, but I believe that a border should compliment the photo rather than become an element of it.

Keep up the good work :)

This is an interesting shot.. there seems to be almost a heart shape on the ground? or am I completely missing it? There's a weird glare on the right. -Annida

I cannot see your title in your picture.. I can't see the picture fiting the challenge no emotion... love is an emotion... snow- and poorly light snow at that- tend to lead to cold, hate, and the bad guys...

This is a pretty good portrait (lighting, candid look), but the border is very distracting.

Love this. The textures and curving shapes are really effective.

Not so sure about the pale blue drop shadow but a great picture (10)
