The small part in focus shows some texture well. The composition and colours are great. IMO if the DOF went from where it is to the tip of the shell at the front this shot would be greatly improved.

Interesting. I think the DOF is a bit too shallow though. That is somewhat a matter of opinion though. Lots of people like this sort of extreme blurring of foreground and background (bokeh?).
