No Lucis or other plugins here, Rene explained that he under-exposed by 2 stops (measuring on the sky) and used 2 lights (probably monolights) to lit himself, one from the front (and probably below) and and the second one from behind (to his right). Intended or not, it is apparent that the latter provided additional lighting to his left side by reflecting in the sliding glass door. He then dodged/burnt and partially desaturated the red channel, that's it. The result is obviously stunning. The message is the one we all know but tend to forget so often: proper lighting and exposure is what really counts. |
