Skating in Providenceby gmarceauComment by nsbca7: For a score under 5 you sure got your share of comments. That means you make people look, think. That is and must be one of the goals of photography. Even if they feel uncomfortable with the image because it breaks their strict rules of composition and lighting. Even more so.

Skating in Providenceby gmarceauComment by nsbca7: I'm quite sure this will not score well here, but it gets my vote. I find the foreground blurring in this case very interesting and I think this is a strong image. Don't allow peer pressure to influence your work too greatly. You have a good eye. |

Skating in Providenceby gmarceauComment by 2Shay: A tough shot to take. By leaving the shutter open longer you get a nice night shot of the building, but over-expose the skaters. Less exposure time would have improved the skaters but lost the building. |

Skating in Providenceby gmarceauComment by indytony: It seems that the foreground and the building in the backgroud don't match visually. Not that they always have to, but the blurriness and overexposure of the ice and skaters make them look somewhat like ghosts. I find the foreground amusing, yet the background seems to be a serious study. I suppose that kind of contrast would work sometimes, but personally I don't see the need for it here. |
