Fire, no brimstone!by yetiComment by DemonLlama: Good use of 'rule of thirds' and filling the frame with your subject. The color is good but the subject isn't that interesting. The light from the flame overwhelms the photo leaving very little detail anywhere else. |

Window on Dreams gone Byby yetiComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
"Window on Dreams gone By" is nice addition into the Window Framed challenge. It was really nice because this was something different from what the majority of challengers entered.
I really like the different perspective from the car to capture a window. I really like the different perspectives from the mirror and the actual background. The contrast between the greens right in between the two red barns is prefect. The include of the horse is nice to show the area. I would prefer to be able to see the whole horse, but I could image how hard it would be to get everything included in the shot. I really do like the overall feel of the shot, all the lines really do create a nice definition. I would agree with comments left by Spurs about the fringing. That would have probably increased your score.
Overall I think you have an excellent eye and I really do look forward to your future entries. Also I wanted to say congradulations on your new highest rated photo. |

Window on Dreams gone Byby yetiComment by posthumous: I gave this a 7. The mirrors make for a great compositional element and there's nothing reflected there to distract from your subject. Enjoyed. |

Window on Dreams gone Byby yetiComment by Prime_Time: Since really your mirror is more in focus and there is some great spring scenery, you could have cropped away all of the trucks window and this would have got rid of the purple fringing also. This put your mirror on a third. I pull your picture up and play with some ideals to make it better to me.
So I did channel mixer, then painted back all but the mirror.
Still had some fringing so I just hue and saturation remove the magenta and some blue, these two colors tend to show up in shadows, Then I used selective color to bring on some more color and went to hue and saturation to make it pop some more.
So now when I look at your picture I go right to the mirror and then I look at the shape of it and see the nice lines that compliment the shapes of the building as my eyes wonder around I also see the nice color it has, this just my opinion. |
