I prefer the BW version. The distance and bright lighting seems to wash out the color of the butte as it moves away. You lose some of the rich red that you have in the foreground. Nice shot in either color or BW, though.

Overall, I think that this is a pretty good image. I like the branch framing the shot and how it goes down into the image, so as to not just appear stuck there in the way, it becomes part of the composition.

This images seems a little dark to me though, enough so that small and interesting details are lost. I think some lightening would give this more depth and visual interest. I'd like to see this in colour, since all the similar tones can get a little smallowed up with this in B & W.

The clouds turned out quite lovely; they add softness to the harder edges around them.

This is a good image, I just think that a little extra editing would make it great. :)

Color works for me. Maybe a bit more contrast would help it. Also like the framing of the tree and the road leading in. Great lines.

Congrats on a good score for this fine image. btw, your image "Monsoon over Mission" was one of my favorites in the 2004 challenge and was taken down here in my neck of the woods. :)
