Still of new lifeby wimekComment by VitaminB: Greetings from Critique Club.
I see that this is your first challenge entry. Welcome to DPC. I suppose it is fitting, because this is my first critique as a member of the critique club.
I think your photo lacks a strong subject. From your description, it is clear that you are trying to photograph the beauty in the everyday, and that the willow seeds are your subject. There are a few things that you can do to draw attention to it. First, get in close. Getting in close will fill more of the frame with your subject, so that other parts of the photograph dont compete for attention. Next, set your aperture wider (f3.5 on your lens for example), to decrease the DOF, making the background a blur, and isolating your subject.
I hope you are not discouraged by your score. My first entry wasn't that great either, but one can learn a lot from this place.

Still of new lifeby wimekComment by Farmr: My eyes wonder around the photo, the subject does not draw me into it. Suggestion is to simplify and emphasize the subject. |

Still of new lifeby wimekComment by carlo: The lines of the table seem to draw you away from the subject. The other dead stuff on the table is distracting. I personally prefer live pristine flowers. Nice try though, keep it up. |
