This one gets a high vote from me even though I am not resonating well with most of the "created artifacts" shots. There's a mood to this that's extremely well-accomplished. I like it very much.

Very fun idea, nicely put together, but a tad flat with the wheat and machines. I would have enjoyed a bit more separation between everything, touch more contrasty maybe, curves? hmmm yet, one of the better images in my opinion.

I feel cold, the sky and the chop on the water coupled with the flat lighting gives me the chill of a damp and dreary day. I would like to be closer to the water edge, more intimate to the gondola. I am frustrated by the limited resolution of web viewing as I feel the true beauty of this image is in the detail.

no, actually this does a great job of emphasizing the beautiful shapes of the gondola and piers and posts all interacting, and then of course the architecture. How refreshing not to see reflections in a Venetian image. To quote myself:

"half-hidden place,
half the painters painted upside-down,"
