When I read The War of the Worlds as a young man this is what I saw in my minds eye. This and The Time Machine are two of my all time favorites. It is amazing how you brought those memories back with this wonderful creation.

Extremely beautiful shot. the lighting is killing me though. you have dark grey and black here. so much great detail is hidden. You might have been trying to set a mood, but rather than looking gloomy, it looks like a print that didn't come out just right. (my old darkroom experience coming out here) could you have played with levels and brought a little more details out?
