You are much more patient that I am. I hope you didn't have to sit all day waiting on this photo! This is an intriguing photo. To create a higher level of 'visual impact' with this shot, I would have attempted to zoom tighter or possibly crop much tighter around this bird. I also realize that this photo can't be recreated at will and I commend your choice of subject for this challenge!

Ok... well... a lot of potential here. For one, I'd prefer to see it in black and white, but that's subjective so it has no bearing on my vote.

The single thing that really blows it for me is the uncomfortable cropping below the church door.

I hope this wasn't a snapshot - you have an interesting subject here and should exploit it. Waiting for some defined clouds might be nice too.
