He's a cutie. And he meets the challenge. I'm afraid the small size is going to cost you some points -- people are always complaining about them. I think otherwise this is a very nice photo, but probably won't get the score it deserves. Hope I'm wrong.

Cute pooch. Two comments. Size really should be larger...try to submit a photograph that measures between 600-640 pixels on the long edge. Other comment is that while the focus appears to be sharp, there are aliasing artifacts (stair-stepping jaggies) on the deck boards which is a result of either resizing the photograph without using a bicubic or equivalent algorithm, or by cranking the sharpness up too high. These two issues mainly detract from the beauty of this photograph. Sorry.
