Frosty fields fo goldby trishialwComment by Tammer: I like your concept, for me though, I wish there was more light on the frost field itself. I think with a few strong golden rays of sunlight this photo would really pop. |

Over the rainbowby trishialwComment by trishialw: I've never seen this before, and didn't even know what it was called prior to taking the picture. For those of you that are in the same boat that I was, it is a Sundog on a Cirrus cloud. It occurs when ice crystals in the cloud refract the sunlight, similar to how rain makes a rainbow. Sundogs typically occur on cirrus clouds, in the evening as the sun sets and the red is typically on the side of the sun. As best as I can tell this was a text book Sundog. |
