I like your concept, for me though, I wish there was more light on the frost field itself. I think with a few strong golden rays of sunlight this photo would really pop.

For this one... it would have been REALLY neat to see a shot taken from your belly looking almost straight up at the wheat(?). Did you try this in a black and white? Just curious.

I've never seen this before, and didn't even know what it was called prior to taking the picture. For those of you that are in the same boat that I was, it is a Sundog on a Cirrus cloud. It occurs when ice crystals in the cloud refract the sunlight, similar to how rain makes a rainbow. Sundogs typically occur on cirrus clouds, in the evening as the sun sets and the red is typically on the side of the sun. As best as I can tell this was a text book Sundog.
