Fragile Mortality by cmeierComment by cmeier: 77ltd, they were normal 120v bulbs. the wires were all attached in parallel and then attached to an extension cord with built-in lamp dimmer.
check out a view of the wiring here. i doubt it would meet electrical code!
i never ran the lights at anything close to full brightness, though, and only for a few seconds at that. they were very, very dim during the exposure.

Fragile Mortality by cmeierComment by cmeier: wow, daniel, i hadn't seen your image before, but clearly all art is derivative! i wasn't able to find unfrosted bulbs; but i think yours works very well.
i note that deapee's 'illuminate' entry in 'illusions ii' continued the trend of standing bulbs on their end.
it will be interesting to see what others will do with them next!
