Coupled for Eternityby KiwiShotzComment by rachelellen: I like the lighting here. This photo would have been better without the window in it. Hard to compose that way, unless you could move the bench about a foot to the right... |

Constable Countryby KiwiShotzComment by Cam: Its a wonderful shot. The countryside is just awesome. I may have cut just a tad off the bottom, with the harsh light on the grass.
But it really is quite nice, great photo. |

Constable Countryby KiwiShotzComment by sfalice: Greetings from the Critique Club
Hello,KiwiPix. We meet again. It's always fun to critique one of your images; you show me new things.
I very much like the foreground fence. Any higher and it would have blocked the viewer from the remainder of the picture, as it is, it acts as a leading line and introduction to the rest. Good shadow control. (much darker would have been disaster)and lovely soft colors.
I do see your dilemma on the water and background mountains. Actually, the biggest problem I see in this very nice image is the bald, bright sky. YOu've been through all this already, I"m sure, but my suggestion would be to crop out the mountains & sky and just leave that heavenly blue water as the final backdrop to this gentle, peaceful photograph.
again, very nice. And good luck in your future DPC Challenges.

Molten Dreamtimeby KiwiShotzComment by kiwiness: Hey Brett, a fellow Kiwi reporting in for a rare Critique Club showing. However, after reading your CC comment on DrAchoo's photo I reckon you could do a better job on critiquing your own photo :) I won't go as deeply into it as you do though.
Congratulations on your second highest scorer so far. I would say this image was a little underrated, I would have placed it a bit higher than 79th. There was a lot of competition to fight against in this challenge though. It was a good choice for the challenge, very abstract and not easy to guess what it is. The title fits well, as it does resemble molten matter in a way. The blue tones from the reflections are all that determine this is not a B&W photo, and do add to the image, although a little deeper/saturated could have brought in more impact. There is not really too much to comment on an image like this which probably explains why you didn't receive too many comment on it.
Overall though technically well done but there is just that little something missing to give it that extra kick to make an outstanding image out of a good image. |

Constable Countryby KiwiShotzComment by bcoble: I like the view here. I do not like the appearance of the water and the hills in the background. Both are the same color. I would have cropped out the water and the hills on this image. |
