Why The Barbed Wire?by BowerbirdComment by ubique: Greetings from the Critique Club.
It's a good Conspiracy theme; the idea of unexplained barbed wire to prevent us from knowing what's going on back there. However, your image seems to me to suggest an old farm fence (which I guess it is). The conspiracy kind of barbed wire ought to be shiny, new and a couple of metres high; that's really sinister! The image itself, its challenge theme shortcomings aside, is a nice one. Good detail and composition. I think some more contrast might have made it look even stronger. That little fragment of wood hanging down in the centre adds nothing to the shot & could profitably have been cloned out. Better yet, broken off before you took the photograph! All in all, a very good idea, but not perhaps executed for maximum impact. |

Secure That Smoke!by BowerbirdComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
This is a cool perspective. Good job taking a common place item and really making it into something to look at. The first thing that grabbed my attention is the sky. The sky looks so blue great job on editing. I really do appreciate the angle you took the photo from, it gives great depth to the shot. I would be curious to see the tower place to one side or another. You would probably have to move to the right, I think if you went to the left you might loose the smoke. I think based on the quality of your photo you defiantly should have placed higher, but excellent job on the photo itself. |

Rusty Bubbleby BowerbirdComment by graphicfunk: An interesting contrast of the rustic and gritty texture of the iron against the ephemeral delicassy of the bubble. |

Rusty Bubbleby BowerbirdComment by dsa157: I like the juxtaposition between the thick heavy rusted chanin and the delicate buble. I wish the bubble wasn't floating in front of the metal spike though. |
