A little soft on the macro, but understandable. The shadowed border is a little distracting (it really doesn't add to the shot imho). I like the centered composition though.

I like your other entry better as a photograph, but it was so clearly a zoo shot that I think this one which could have been shot in nature would have scored better. It would benfit from a bump in saturation and a bit of shadow filter to bring out the feathers on the chest.

Thank you! The softness wasn't intentional nor desired. You are right in that a sharper image would be been better. I should have done more post-editing. Unfortunately, at 300mm focal length without a tripod, this picture is the only one with his expression and clarity that I had that wasn't blurry! I'll have to remember to bring a tripod next time! Thank you for your helpful comment.
