| 06/26/2005 03:54:26 AM | What am I?by KellilooComment by DanSig: I should have looked at this picture first, those red lines in the other picture are the wings.
this is a moth or a butterfly of some sort, even though the moth is in the center of the picture the composition is still much better then in the other picture, here you have some diagonal lines that leads the eye in to the picture, the lighting is good, this hasn't the oversharpened look like the other, details are quite good considering the camera, the background is good, only the green spot in upper right corner that should get cloned out, it's a bit destracting.
another great picture.. I can't wait to see your work after you get a decent camera 3+ Mpixels :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/26/2005 03:46:21 AM | Aliens have landed!by KellilooComment by DanSig: this is amazing, for only 0.3Mpixel camera, I have no idea what kind of insect this is or how big it is.
as for the photo, the DOF is very shallow so only a small portion of the bug is in focus, those red lines in the background don't look like they are a part of tir bug, even thoug they are sticking out of it's backside, so a different angle would have been good. lighting seems good, maby a bit oversharpened, but might have been nessesary considering the camera, the picture is to centered, might be good to cut of one side, youll get a square picture with the bug on one side.
but again, amazing considering the camera, even my cellphone has more pixels :) | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 06/24/2005 08:54:41 AM | Land's Edgeby KellilooComment by aboutimage: Keliloo, in my opinion, your photography skills have outgrown your camera. From the few I've looked at, you have quite an eye for framing a nice shot. Your camera simply isn't up to the task of doing the quality you seem to be capable of. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/24/2005 08:51:10 AM | Heavens on Fireby KellilooComment by aboutimage: Keliloo, an additional note on the "noise": I used to have a Sony Mavica, and they produced a lot. This is due to JPEG compression - if I recall, your camera uses a floppy disk? The camera is likely set to maximize disk usage, and your photos suffer accordingly. You might want to check your settings and make sure the camera is set to the largest resolution with "fine" rather than "standard" quality. You'll get fewer photos per disk, but your photos will turn out nicer. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/24/2005 07:53:07 AM | Blue Skyby KellilooComment by DanSig: this is a nice shot, would have fitted perfectly in the " naturally framed" challenge, a bird or a plane would make it even more interesting. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/24/2005 07:50:26 AM | Sunsetby KellilooComment by DanSig: very nice sunset pic, composition and lighting is good, it has a oriental feeling to it, with that roof on pillars, nice work. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/23/2005 08:14:30 AM | Heavens on Fireby KellilooComment by jenesis: Kelli, the noise he is referring to are the little specks and artifacts the show up mainly in the sky and clouds. Thats just a byproduct of the low resolution of the camera I believe. One thing that might help is neatimage. Used in moderation it can get rid of the artifacts and produce a smoother image. You can do a google search on Neatimage and you should find it pretty easy. There is a free version you can download. But be careful, used to excess and you can come out with plastic looking people and unrealistic landscapes. Just takes some practice getting the right mixture. :-) Have fun, there's lots to learn here. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/23/2005 07:33:12 AM | Sunsetby KellilooComment by Kelliloo: Tobias, Thanks. Take the building out huh? Hmmm, I never thought of that. Good idea. I thought at first it looked like a building form China or japan or something like that,so I left it in. Thanks for the thoughts. |
| 06/23/2005 07:31:04 AM | Heavens on Fireby KellilooComment by Kelliloo: Tobias, thank you. I am not sure what you mean by noise,is there a link to something that will clarify this for me?
Jaimeson, Thank you, I am glad you like it. Is it one of my favs as well. I will keep posting my pics, I'm not going anywhere, was just a bit dissappointed is all. I'll get over it...=) |
