the first thought that popped into my mind is 'why b&w'? i'm curious to see what color the train is and why you converted it.

challenge met -- yes
composition / appeal -- composition is fine. i know there's no way of avoiding the wires and the sign to the right, i would probably try and clone them out for use of the photo outside of this challenge. subject not terribly exciting to me personally.
technical -- good. see my b&w question above.

Near and dear to my heart.... my Dad was a railroader, and this evokes a lot of sentiment in my heart, not to mention that it is a well composed shot. The black/white format lends itself to the subject matter, too, giving it a nostalgic feel. Very nice job! 8 cameo
