When I Get Homeby dx_powerComment by owen: It's hard to get a big DOF with the fast shutter speed required for this shot. It may have looked better going for focus on the butterfly and going for soft focus on the house. It's still pretty good and the composition of the house, path and lawn is good. |

Country Livingby dx_powerComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
"Country Living" is a very nice addition in the comfort challenge. What I think is great is that you used a subject that is comfortable for you not just something you would think voters would like.
The image itself is very nice. The first thing that grabs my attention are the colors, they are so vibrant and rich. I really like the composition. Everything thing feels naturally placed and nothings looks forced. I also think your focus is prefect, we know exactly what we are looking at and it makes sense. The only thing that seems like it could be adjusted it below the hat there is a piece of wood that use looks angled, especially with the black space underneath it. I think without the black slanted line on the bottom the score would have been higher. But hey its the second challenge you have entered and you placed in the upper 50%, that's always a good start. |
