I was doing fine till I saw this image.... It evoked such memories. Yes indeed this does represent darkness to me as I have been there and still feel the pain. Nineteen years later I still on occasion sit in a silent room and wonder..... what if.

The tears and heartaches still revisit me on occasion, but luckily I have foregone the search for solace in a bottle. This image may not be the most technically perfect of submissions, but it is darkness personified....as only one who lost a child could truly appreciate. Good luck to you

Great job of meeting the challenge. Nice and sharp and I like the lighting...particularly the way it hits the folds in her bathrobe. Lacks a tad of contrast to be a really super black and white, but that said, I think you put together an interesting composition. Good luck!

something feels off in this image... some kind of disconnect.
the models face to body? too posed? the seemingly rain-streaked window and abundunce of light? I can't quite put my finger on it.

I'm not so sure about the teddy bear. I understand that she probably lost he baby, but, if not for the title, I would never have figured that out. Just something to ponder.
