Javaby MinutiaComment by Jeileen: Light is a bit harsh. a different perspective would have enhanced this overall - like maybe a coffee pot or cup in the background. |

Javaby MinutiaComment by muckpond: the harsh light makes these look really unappealing. kinda like... well, we won't go there. diffuse light would help out this shot tremendously. |

Javaby MinutiaComment by DeniseBernadette: Mmmm.... that looks like it smells so good. Now I'm craving coffee. Nice shot, though the lighting looks like it was a tad harsh. |

Daisy (Macro)by MinutiaComment by Jutilda: Very pretty!!! WE've seen so many of these lately, I thought I'd be tired of them, but this is a nice one. |

Javaby MinutiaComment by Azrifel: The color of the coffee beans is a bit too close to the color of poo.
Is this their real color or was the influence of the color of the lighting you used the reason for this?
More diffusion (a sheet in a couple of feet before the light source, or reflection (bounce the light on something big and bright) might also solve it a bit, the light is somewhat intense. |

Javaby MinutiaComment by AlexMonty: The lighting is a little "hot" for my liking. There're a lot of hotspots created by the direct lighting. To fix this you might want to diffuse the light onto the coffee more.
The lighting aside, I like the rhythm and texture in this shot, I would have perhaps chosen a more extreme angle and got a slightly shallower DOF to put the focus on a particular coffee bean and imply said rhythm and texture as opposed to making it more of a focal point like you have here.
A nice idea, but some technical points let you down a little. Hope my comment helps :)
