Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Once I read the photog. comments I got it ... but before this it was just a picture of some chimneys.

Composition:
I like the composition here. the top of the chimney is on thirds .. and the chimneys verticles line thirds too - I think thsi is clever work.

Subject:
As your commentators said .. only those who know will get it... this showed in the scoring.

Technical (Colour and light):

Beautiful ... I like this a lot .. looks like you played the contrast up and that works.

To grow its vote?:
I think that many thought DNMC (does not meet challenge) .. that was the issue .. is a great shot otherwise.

Summary:
Now I get it it makes sense .. pity it didn't before.

This looks a bit like Battersea Power Station or a similar one elsewhere... long since abandoned. Clever positioning of the cloud to imply that it's coming out of the chimney. My fear for you is that many of the viewers won't get that it's a closed power plant, even with the title... but maybe I'm underestimating "joe average voter"?
