I feel that this one could benefit from a wider aperture (shallower DOF). This way everything is in focus and she is competing with the interesting background for attention in the photo. The composition is excellent, the rule of 3rds works well here.
See if you can blur some of that background in postprocessing and if it really is better or not.

Nicely done and good title, in my opinion. For me, the red of the flowers adds interest whereas without them it would simply be another statue.

I like this pose and setting the best, but you need to use either a reflector or a fill flash to open up her face. Also, a fill flash will add a catch-light to your girlfriend's eyes and the dog's eyes.

Or you could move her out of the shadow and face the sun if its not too harsh.

Also, her left side is darker than her right. Try using a reflector (or even a piece of white posterboard) to brighten up the side that's shadowed.

I agree I like this one the best too, but it does look like you used AF and focused on the background not the subject so she and her companion look softer than the background. Not sure how to fix that. Good luck. I do like the lighting and colors in this shot. Nice composition and overall tone.

This is an intelligently presented image that unfortunately passed under the radar in this challenge. It's a great idea and well executed. The bulb in the middle is just a bit too bright I think, but otherwise this image is very good. Its score is much lower than it should be.
