Eyesblur_CR.jpgby carisakD70Comment by Art Roflmao: I love this shot! SHe is soooo cute. Only nitpic is the watermark/copyright - I hate those things. I know some people feel they are a necessary evil, but they could probably be minimized or left off on some photos. (then I could swipe the image and claim it as my own muwahahaa) just kidding. :) I like your portfolio! You do great suff. |

DSC_6712bweb.jpgby carisakD70Comment by Art Roflmao: It's an awesome capture! Looks like this is the original?
The only thing I might change is to tone down the brightness on the side of the baby's face and I would just touch up the marks on the woman's neck (healing brush). Otherwise, it is definitely something to print and frame and show off! Great image and a cute pair! :) |

DSC_6712bweb.jpgby carisakD70Comment by klstover: Oh, heck yeah, be proud of it. I am so into the "helpful commentary" mode that I didn't emphasize enough that I really really love this shot and I'd be proud of it if I had taken it!! Besides, post processing might be able to help it some, but hey, you have a WONDERFUL shot to begin with, and that is WAY more important than post processing. |

DSC_6712bweb.jpgby carisakD70Comment by Penny Lane: I say be proud of the shot! Don't fall into the trap of having to have others aproval. If you think it's great then it is! If you know it's lacking something then by all means ask for advice but if you're feeling good about it, accept that it's good! EVERY photo could be changed in some way to meet anothers preferences. Create what YOU enjoy and like the look/feel of. Don't mean to sound preachy but I've just truely figured this out for myself and I feel much better about my photography and am enjoying it more again.
Keep enjoying what you're doing. :)
ps no offence to those who have posted advice. |

DSC_6712bweb.jpgby carisakD70Comment by levyj413: I'll go along with klstover on everything, including the contrast. I learned a very useful trick with curves. Try raising the highlights (right-most of the three vertical lines) while dropping the shadows (left-most of the three). |

DSC_6712bweb.jpgby carisakD70Comment by klstover: I think this is a beautiful shot but it could benefit from some more contrast. The colors seem to fade together and I'm distracted a bit by how bright the whites are. I love the baby's face, so amazingly joyful. I also like how the woman has lowered eyelashes without looking like her eyes are supposed to be closed but are not quite there - I have this problem a lot when I am posing. Although I'd like to see a color version to compare it to, I think that the desaturation works very nicely. Finally I think the woman has a very pretty profile - the eyebrows and ears remind me of a pretty elf. |
