Mercurialby JonoComment by Jono: I honestly thought this picture would do a little better than 4.7, but never mind. I probably shouldn't have entered a challenge with over 600 entries for my first attempt!
The title "Mercurial" basially means 'Moody'. If you look it up in a dictionary, you'll find an explanation of 'Quick and changable in temperement; Volatile.' Click here for definition
As for the choice of duotone colour, I wanted the whole feeling of the image to portray that 'moody' feeling. Despite my score, I'm really pleased with my photo.
Many thanks to my wonderful girlfriend for putting up with me! :-) |

Mercurialby JonoComment by m: I don't understand why this ended up so low.
I like it a heck of a lot more than my photo (about 0.3, and over 100 places higher).
Technically solid, good crop, attractive--and as was mentioned earlier, one heck of a look coming at you (maybe you *should* put the camera down?). |

Rings of Fireby JonoComment by KiwiShotz: Spot on the challenge (thank god someone is). I've seen a few of these and this is better than most because of the sky and the light coming from behind her. |

Mercurialby JonoComment by erling: Now wait a minute... are we going to see more from this series in future contests with a mildly adult theme to them? I really feel like this photo wasn't taken with the intent to make it a good duotone image... |

Mercurialby JonoComment by hideout: Good composition, the face says it all. I would like to have seen a different duotone, the greenish tone (on my monitor) is not flattering to such a beautiful subject, maybe a blue to compliment the water theme, or stark B&W would have been more attractive. |
