I don't think the background does this any justice. Some side lighting would show more detail and shadow. It appears that you used flash or direct light instead.

This may be an antique but, it just "looks" too new for the challenge.

This really doesn't suggest "old" to me. The composition and lighting are flat and uninspired. 3 Jak

good choice of background. The framing could have been a little tighter to eliminate the problem in the upper right hand corner.

nice still life :) In this particular image, I believe that a darker background would work better. This would offer a greater contrast between your subject and the background. - jmsetzler

Flash or ambient light produces distracting shadows.

Comment by jkiolbasa:
The shadow is distracting and the pillow you used for the background isn't filling the entire background. I would suggest using a larger background, like a bed sheet, and place it in the distance. That way, shadows are less likely to line up the way they do here, and you can use depth of field to blur out any "imperfections" like wrinkles.

Something old. Use your photographic technique to emphasize the age of your subject.
Composition - good. background upper right is poor
Technical Aspects - quite good
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality - good

A plain colored background would have been perfect for this.
