Fly Awayby novaComment by nova: A few commenters asked how I was lucky enough to get three swallowtail butterflies in a single photo. I was laying flat on my back in the bed of my pickup truck below a mimosa tree in full bloom, and the tree was covered with butterflies flitting from flower to flower and all around the canopy. |

Here, thought you would also get a kick out of this sign. It is posted right on the front wall of the trailer, just farther to the left of the scene above.

Push the bell, but stay in your car. The circular thing on the left of that sign looks like the bell, so I'm trying to figure out how to drive the car up to the sign, without hitting the stairs. Love it. |

I lived here from 1984-91, and it's my wife's home, so we have returned to this part of the country to help her mom and dad. I am looking forward to exploring more of the photo opportunities this region offers in the months and years to come. |

Aftermath of a Moveby novaComment by nova: jagar, Cuttooth: Thank you both. It's been one of the tougher moves I've made, but we love the house and yard and neighborhood.
@ 4.x: I LOVE hearing the martins! Their clicks and whistles kind of remind me of dolphin noises, odd as that sounds. Maybe it was the seagulls creating all the ruckus when you lived in Florida! |
