Spring Lifeby KeysComment by Kivet: lighting should be on the flowers, the clouds totally outshine them because they are so much brighter. |

Spring Lifeby KeysComment by katswig: A landscape, not really a still life. Maybe if the flowers had been lit I might think of it as a still life instead of a landscape. |

Spring Lifeby KeysComment by kellylautt: The lighting and composition could be improved, I think. Also, I don't think it reflects the "still life" theme very well. Pretty, though. |

Spring Lifeby KeysComment by operalynn: a bit more light on the flowers would have been nice, but I like the framing of the trees |

Spring Lifeby KeysComment by raish: This does not meet the challenge - inanimate but not an arranged composition of objects. |

Spring Lifeby KeysComment by Dr.Confuser: I gave this photo a 1 because it didn't seem to me to fulfill my expectation of a "still life," a classic form of artfully arranged objects. Call me narrow minded but that's the way I see it. Nevertheless, it is a lovely photo. |

Millenium Bridge, Newcastleby KeysComment by Keys: Thanks for that! i did have an earlier shot, but there were too many people on it at the time, so i went for this one. The other one looked a bit lifeless i tink but the bridge did stand out more.
I shall explore the bridge further at the next opportunity, maybe take close ups of the steel cables
thanks again |

Millenium Bridge, Newcastleby KeysComment by Imagineer: :: Hello from the Critique Club ::
............................................................
For starters you have a dramatic subject. It's a dynamic structure and your angle shows it off well. It's a shame you couldn't have got ther earlier/later to catch some sun glints on the arch which would help separate it from that distracting background. Alternatively, if you were crazy enough you could have taken a powerful torch and 'light-painted' it with that.
The shot is a tad skewed down to the right too, but it's a subtle flaw.
I can't help thinking that perhaps there's a more impressive angle at closer range looking up, but you would have to forsake the footbridge to get all of the arch and vice-versa.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
