Thank you for your comment. I understand the first part and agree with it to an extent. There have been a lot of pictures taken of ferris wheels. I was just trying to take one in somewhat a different way than you normally see.
The second part of your comment I'm not so sure I understand. The angle might be "odd" as in "unusual", but that's not necessarily bad. I think I managed to create a balanced image and this angle makes it, in my opinion, more interesting than other more straight-on photos that I've seen. However that may be a matter of taste.
As to finding the angle distracting, I'm not sure what it could be distracting from since the ferris wheel is the only element in the image. Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly, so please, feel free to elaborate more on your comment.

A very valid comment. I knew the subject was not very original when I took the picture, although my intent was to capture it in an original way. That's why I chose this type of angle as opposed to the straight on, flat, full view of ferris wheels that I've seen most often.
And that's also why I timed it so that the exposure happened partially as the ferris wheel was settling to a stop, so that I would get the spinning blur, but also the shape of some gondolas would become distinct.
Still, it's a very valid comment and I appreciate it.

Thanks you for your comments. As you can now see in the info, I used a 30 second exposure with an ISO of 200 so that I wouldn't get any noise. Of course, I needed to use a tripod for this type of shot.

The way I got the gondolas to show up more was by timing the exposure to start about 15 seconds before the ferris wheel started to stop. That way I got some of them to be more distinct as they settled.
