Newcastle-Quayside-5.jpgby BlackdogComment by Jinjit: The noise does not bother me a bit.
I love this photo.
The stairway leads the eye to the graceful church. I almost missed the hidden way on the left...
I wish I could see the entire church in the middle of the photo, but I guess it's too big to fit in :-)
Beautiful photo. |

Newcastle-Quayside-7.jpgby BlackdogComment by Jinjit: Oh this one is gorgeous!
I would never have guessed you replaced the sky here.
I love the light and the shapes here.
The building is just a little bit tilting to the left. I think that a small CW rotation (maybe 2 degrees or so) could make this even better. but if you do that, don't crop out those empty triangles. Try to fill them with the background (the sky and the road) so you won't loose any bit of the original photo! |

Newcastle-Quayside-1(A).jpgby BlackdogComment by Jinjit: This one is a much better version! The sky look real and their less dominant color leaves the attention on the amazing color of the buildings.
You did a beautiful work with stitching the sky into the picture.
I can suggest a couple of minor adjustments, but they are not completely necessary. I still like this photo the way it is.
1. to crop out the white building on the right, which does not really feet into here, color-wise.
2. Add a little bit of blur to the sky. Like a radius of one pixel or so.
The sky are beautiful but because of the windows on the building, the clouds make it a bit too busy. Bluring it a little bit might soften this.
Over all, this would make an amazing postcard to send home while visiting this place :-) I really hope I'll get there one day.
Thanks a lot for sharing this! |

Newcastle-Quayside-1.jpgby BlackdogComment by Jinjit: I love the light on the buildings, the reflections and I think that your processing job on them is excellent!
I have a little problem with the sky though. They look like a kind of "indoor" sky. Like a painting above the buildings.
The clouds are great but the blue tone is a bit weird IMO. Maybe if you could get it darker, it would improve.
Or maybe it's just me :-)

Reach Outby BlackdogComment by Kathy: Too much corner to corner. With the underside detail darkened, maybe a little monre of the side would have helped here. |

Reach Outby BlackdogComment by puzzled: Great title for a very good photo. The composition couldn't be better. It's possible that the brightness could be improved, but it might just be that on my monitor the highlights in the lower left glare a little. |
