Lovely looking tree indeed. Very striking. The image looks very soft though (handheld - no tripod) so this is something I would rely on for a shot where there isn't much light.

If I were taking this I might try to get very low and close to the tree roots, shoot in portrait and look upawards at the trunk with a very long DOF (focusing on the trunk with at least f8). This would give a great view of the textures both near and far.

As it stands your comp is OK, but I would have lost the bright background with the person showing.

This is a cute pose and a very nice candid. On a technical note, the DOF is too shallow and brings unnecessary attention to the younger girl's hair.
