Cowgirl Baby!by cassilda_terryComment by melismatica: The model needs to be placed further from the background. When the model is shot so close to a background, the composition has a very claustrophobic, compressed feeling. It's a nice pose and the cropping is good but the lighting appears harsh and unflattering. I like her hat but it isn't a cowboy hat so the title is a bit confusing. Also, she is pulling at some pink lining (or something) from the inside of the hat and that is extremely distracting. |

Night Walkby cassilda_terryComment by bpickard: Great shot with good range of lighting levels. The model looks a little bit stranded in the middle though...how about cropping the bottom to just below her feet as our eye is pulled to where she has come from....not where she is going??? |

Night Walkby cassilda_terryComment by Azrifel: I just wondered about the many vanishing point photos that were so boring because of the lack of a 'real' point of interest. Adding some human interest would work and voila, I was presented this photo;
Like the composition (use of person & positioning in frame+shadow box, angle),
shadows (lines lead, texture of the fence on the floor),
lighting (shadows/ person's body & face).
Another interesting factor is the balance between the purple pants in the foreground and the purple floor in the background. The purple works well with the yellow/orange (natrium light?).
The vanishingpoint leads back to the person again and that is cool. |
