Nervous - On the lookoutby HeavyComment by Philos: Although I don̢۪t say this is a bad picture I have scored this low.
Low in my book is not extremely low, but I guess there will be other people thinking the same way I do who don̢۪t leave a comment.
Don̢۪t take this the wrong way, this is my own opinion, and I am trying to let you understand what some voters may think.
In my opinion this does not meet the challenge, the description of the challenge: Take a picture that captures an emotion.
I looked hard, but I don̢۪t see an emotion. This could be my fault, but that̢۪s the reason why I voted lower as I would normaly do.

Nervous - On the lookoutby HeavyComment by Artifacts: Nice hawk and decent use of rile of thirds. Sky appears to be a bit mottled. Could be smoothed with selective application of gaussian blur. Focus is on the soft side and you may want to sharpen it a bit more. |

"Wild Thing"by HeavyComment by wetland: One of the best using flowers...you can really see the jewelry and it goes well with the title. |

"Wild Thing"by HeavyComment by graphicfunk: A lovely concept and indeed a very dtrong composition. If it lacks one thing is better focus. With these images there is no compromise, the ring must be ultra sharp. Bumping up on good attempt. |

Enjoying the Sceneryby HeavyComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club...
Hi Heavy...
Between Montereykiddo's and Crabapple's comments, I don't think there is much more that I can add. This is an example of where 'meeting the challenge' simply isn't enough. This photo doesn't go beyond that for me. There is nothing intriguing about the image. There is nothing that makes me think about what I'm looking at. You also didn't offer any of your own insight as to why you entered this photograph. I can simply assume that you entered it because you like to enter challenges moreso than thinking that it's a really great image. What is it about this image that YOU think makes it contest worthy? In the future, I would suggest that you include your own thoughts on the image when you post it, especially if you are asking someone for an in-depth critique. I can't offer you much more than this without knowing what your actual intention is. My suggestion for future challenges is that you enter something that goes beyond simply meeting the challenge. If you already know that meeting the challenge is all you plan to do, don't waste someone else's time by asking for an in-depth critique on it :)
John Setzler
