Eggby JakComment by qachyk: Neat take on the egg idea. The dark background sets it off well but has the side effect of making it a little too staged-looking, sort of a trade-off. The egg-holder is itself interesting to look at, and makes a good contrast for the egg yolk. |

Eggby JakComment by wewillexplore: The lighting needs work - so does the composition. If you want us to follow the flow, show it to us. Interesting perspective into the heart of the egg, but kinda gross around the edges. Nice use of negative space. |

Eggby JakComment by jillz: Enjoyed this composition, although the egg white is a little bright. Nice shot! |

Eggby JakComment by KevinRiggs: Wow.
The symmetry of the egg is offset by the lack of centering the subject. The colors are intense and the link between the light yellow of the egg cup and the darker yolk provide a link. The running of the soft yolk is visceral and gives the picture some "live action". I think this is an unusual subject and just a great composition. |

Eggby JakComment by Olyuzi: Good idea, but I find the lighting to be too harsh. |

Eggby JakComment by justine: OOF and the light is harsh. I'm not sure this would appeal to the general viewer. |

Eggby JakComment by hawkida: The egg looks odd at that angle in the egg cup and the image isn't pleasing as it just looks like a sticky mess someone needs to clean up soon. |

Eggby JakComment by Koriyama: Just looking made me hungry. Thanks for the moment. Photographically, a well-done image. |

Matrix IIby JakComment by wewillexplore: Greetings from the Critique Club
Hi Jak!
Composition
I like the curve against the straight lines here. The composition leads us into and out of the picture, which is alright.
Color
Hate the post processing - I think devart and photosig are a lot more welcoming to the digital art than dpc - we (me too) tend to dislike "art" and focus as much as we can on "photography." I guess it helps this shot tie into your theme more, but I think it's too much.
Subject matter
Not sure how this is matrixy except the post processing.
Overall
Your score reflected my opinion of this shot - you do some of the best work on dpc, so I am not going to waste your time trying to explain why I think you finished down here. Happy shooting, can't wait to see some more stuff from ya.
