Giant Bubble Manby ElemmennopeComment by RKT: What a great candid this is! I really wish I were one of those little girls, they just seem to be having the time of their lives, particularly the little one in that great orange sweater...true and honest emotion...the way childhood should be...and oodles and oodles of fabulous fun with the grandest bubbles on earth! |

Six O'Clock Shadowby ElemmennopeComment by Jutilda: I agree, it is pleasing. I like the lines on the porch and the lines of the chair - at different angles. This would be a cool study in black and white too. I think there is enough variance in light to dark, to make for something interesting that way too. Good eye! |

Champoeg Elmby ElemmennopeComment by tsheets: I like the lighting/shadow play on the grass, and the lower leaves of the tree are nicely backlit. The evergreen makes for a nice backdrop as well. The very bright backlighting washing out the upper-left leaves and a few branches is a bit harsh. If you shot this in RAW, I wonder if you could convert a version with the exposure dropped and merge the two to gain some of the lost details in those areas as well as some color/texture to the sky. I also think you may be able to bring a bit more texture to the grass with careful (masked) sharpening. Overall, a nice shot with great colors. I would visit this again in the fall when the leaves are changing. |

Mazatlan Cornerby ElemmennopeComment by Faye Pekas: Love the building and composition. The shadows take away from the effect though. Can you shoot it again a different time of day? |

Kelley Point (Industrial Outtake)by ElemmennopeComment by Elemmennope: It was f/22 (details are listed above) but maybe it needed a longer exposure time to really make the starburst happen? I had it on aperture priority, and it exposed it for 0.6 seconds and yes, with tripod. And actually the starburst are there, though hard to see in the 640 pixel version. Definitely not as dramatic as some photos I've seen. The fog may have been a factor in that too - the air wasn't nice and clear between me and those boats.
Horizon is parallel but no matter what I do this picture looks like it's tipping to the right to me. It was one of the reasons I didn't care for it too much. |
