Fixtureby DianaBComment by jbeazell: a bit boring, and the flash bounce-back is very distracting... maybe taking the image from more an angle would benefit the image. |

Fixtureby DianaBComment by ccraft: The harsh light in this is very distracting and doesn't add anything to the composition. The colours are a bit off - almost like the white balance wasn't metering things properly. Also, taking a photo like this dead-on and centered doesn't add a lot of drama to the composition. Think of things like depth of field, rule of thirds and using negative space. |

Candle Litby DianaBComment by alanbataar: Hey there -- I know voting is closed, and enough people ragged on the focus, so I won't mention that. ;) Anyway, here's a tip; photography is about light, so think about how light travels, how it changes when it strikes object, and -- here's the suggestion for this shot -- how it travels through things. The oil bottle might have been stunning if it were lit from behind. |

Fixtureby DianaBComment by melismatica: This is an extremely mundane subject. The glare and reflections on the glass don't help (you really need to use a polarizing filter to shoot a subject that is behind glass -- sometimes shooting at an angle can help reduce the glare and reflections). |

Fixtureby DianaBComment by mandyp: You've tried here and I can see what you were planning, but unfortunately the subject matter just isn't very interesting. You should investigate techniques of cropping images to bring out the subject. The reflection and flash spot are distracting. |

Fixtureby DianaBComment by CDS: IMO the flash and the reflection of the stairs really distract from the overall feeling of the photo. |
