Leaf Pile Leapsby mijakComment by Artifacts: Concept and framing of this image is good. This reminds me of jumping in piles of leaves when I was a kid. It is probably your camera but the overall quality of the image makes it look more like a snapshot. I don't know where you live but judging from what I can see here it looks rural and if it is I envy you. |

Leaf Pile Leapsby mijakComment by admart01: the glowing hair moves this into the art category for me; I'd like to see the shot with a tighter crop around the subject (and perhaps more of the leaves since it's in the title) |

Leaf Pile Leapsby mijakComment by caryc: This should would be perfect if you could see more of his feet and the splash of the mud. |

S.O.S.by mijakComment by mithandor: I really feel this photograph would have been better without the "blue" color cast. There is simply too much of the sky reflected onto the boat by the snow and it makes everything far too blue. My suggestions would be to show it in monochrome, or maybe with a sepia tone. Personally, I like the red channel of the image.
Compositionwise, the upper right hand corner feels bare. I would really have liked to have seen a cloud up there to offset the metal rod. (My eye wanders through the rod into the dead space).
I think the subject is perfect for the competition. |
