Delectable Dropletsby
jaidComment by jaid: Wow, lots of comments this week! Thanks!
Figured I would respond to many of them, and explain a bit more about the shot.
First of all, this was a completely spontaneous shot. It was one of a series of 4 shots (I didnt make my kitty go thirsty for days to get her to want to drink condensation, nor did I glue her down to the desk until she did so =). I had no intentions of taking the picture for this challenge, but I liked the droplet texture and figured it would qualify. I realize it was probably stretching things a bit. I couldnt crop the newspaper out of the shot without cutting in to the glass, and that really put the focus on my kitty, and away from the droplets so that didnt seem like a good solution. It looks much better with the newspaper cloned out, but unfortunately thats not allowed. That shadow is quite a menace also.
All that said, the answers to all questions that were asked:
Journey: I hope she isnt becoming an alcoholic. I cant afford my own taste for wine, let alone the added expense hers would bring!
bunnies: About 5-10 seconds! I guess luck was on my side that day.
jochen: Yep, shes a Bengal, and it never occurred to me to take a shot of her fur either.
BeeGee: Im happy to say she didn't go without water at all ;)
Guillermo: Nope, its a Bengal Cat! //www.bengalcat.com
spiller: Thanks for the site! I submitted a variation of this shot, we'll see how it does.
GeneralE: Not yet!
amandolin: Nope, she is actually a Begal (//www.bengalcat.com). Thanks for the kind words!
Swashbuckler: The perspective on her coat is bad in the shot, she is actually more spotted than striped. Either way, her name is 'Shiraz'. I guess her name is turning out to be pretty fitting.
For anyone interested, heres a slightly different shot/perspective with the newspaper clumsily cloned out: //www.divinyard.net/gallery/album24/aai?full=1
Thanks again for all the comments!
