Excellent capture. The focus is nice the natural light is a bit harsh and I wish there were a little more contrast depth but I love the ambience of the image and how 1940's it looks to me. I immediately was drawn into the photo and made a connection and that always overrules any issues I see in the technical department. Great idea, fits the challenge well, really made a connection so I gave an 8

Very nice color and stop action. I think the only thing that would have improved this is more negative space in front of the plane for it to fly into.

This is tough to catch without some motion blur...I've seen a couple of airplane/helicopter shots so far where the prop was actually stopped with high enough shutter speed. Might take a minor hit on this since the prop is still blurred. Did you bump the color saturation some? The blue looks a little overdone - maybe it's the smoke. Is the smoke supposed to be blue? Speaking of smoke, I'm glad this plane has that going on, otherwise this image might be a little too static/documentary to generate any 'wow' votes.

Best of luck to you in the challenge.

you need a faster shutter to stop the propeller ;-)

Excellent shot! I'd love to see a bit more detail in the shadows, but that's really just nitpicking.

I like this image, the plane is interesting and the smoke is neat. My negative is I think it's cropped way too close in the front. The plane has nowhere to go. 6
