Behind the Eight Ball...by txphotogirlComment by ellamay: Hi greetings from the CC, a good idea for the challenge, it is well composed. The eight ball should probably be better focused for a precise DOF shot. The lighting will works, may be a little more interesting if it were slightly more subtle. What I do like however is the shadow of the 8 ball.
It is also curious to me that the balls do not seem to be on a pool table?
If you want to achieve sharpness next time I find manual focusing really helps as does adjusting your aperature settings til you get one that works. With these settings you can achieve much more control over your shot. On still life shots I often take many, download them and check what works and doesn't and then re-shoot from what I learned in first batch, just an idea... keep up the shooting : ) |

Behind the Eight Ball...by txphotogirlComment by Rasai: If the photo had something with a soft focus in the foreground to indicate a 'Shallow Depth of Field' I would have given it another point. Where is the focus?, even the '8' is a little too soft. |

Behind the Eight Ball...by txphotogirlComment by TooCool: Wow, this one hurts my eyes a little bit. It's a nice composition, but I haven't a clue where the focus point is. Maybe it's 'Behind the Eight Ball...'
