cute pic, wish the boys head made the shot, the way his hand is on the ground with the grass makes it look like it's backwards (no thumb!) and the way he's sitting (typical of a child) but looks like he's an amputee'. ;) pic to me doesn't quite portray 'best friends' - boy seems to have that uncomfortable/nervous - somebody help me look, body language is leaning so far away from the dog. (sorry).

Pretty cute shot, but I wish the boy was more in contact with the dog. It looks like he's just staring randomly off into space, and if you didnt catch the slight smile in his face, you almost might think he's being attacked -- which negates your boys best friend title.

I like the way you've filled the frame with these two, and the choice of bg works well to avoid distractions. Great expression on the boy, too. I'm a little less happy with the dog. I guess it's grabbing a ball or something, but with his head turned that way it's hard to make out. Combined with the tucked in tail, the dog's whole posture bothers me a little. You could increase contrast for more 'pop'.

Hehe, blue heelers are cool dogs :). I like the way this photo is composed, the expression you captured, the way the dog's markings come up in black and white and the texture on the fence. Nice photo.
