This image is of a eastern box turtle that had buried itself in the mud. The only thing that was visible was his eye. I agree with most of the comments suggesting the foreground is too out of focus, but was shooting under poor conditions. Knowing what the animal is you can make out the line around the shell, front foot, and head. I would be happy to upload the unedited version if anyone is interested.

This has an outrageous oozy feeling to it! I look forward to discovering what sort of creature it is--hope you'll reveal. The brights do distract--wonder if they could be toned down some.

the reflection in the water makes the picture very busy. But its almost impossible to avoid. Flooding has definitely been an issue lately, so great topic!
