Fresh-Brewed-Cup-of-OJby adriano74Comment by tanguera: Adrian, you are going to improve so much very quickly. You have a great, positive, learning attitude, and clearly a wicked imagination. As others have pointed out, the only real issue here is the clutter - The stuff on the fridge, the wires, the stove top, etc. Also, it's very crowded. Study set-up shots and you'll note they've made space for the subject. This might mean moving stuff around. Actually, it DOES mean moving stuff around :-)
Once you have a set up, look through your viewfinder and see if there is anything distracting in the background (shadows, something shiny, dust bunnies - backgrounds are very sneaky). Finally, don't assume that standing in front of the subject is the best shooting angle. get down low, step up on a stool, move to the left and the right, experiment with different points of view. Many times straight on is more powerful that looking down on something, simply because it is not a "normal" pov.
And congrats on your first challenge - an expert editing one at that! |

Mmmmm, warm ORANGE JUICE!!!! I don't think it would taste all that good hot but it might be a nice scent that permeates throughout the house:-) This shot has potential if you just got rid of the clutter so the focus can stay on the coffee pot, the cup and the coffee pitcher pouring juice into the cup. The composition would also be stronger if the whole pitcher was in the frame so that the orange color of the orange juice would be even more noticable. |
