Love the introduction on your profile. "sometimes I'm dragged out..." Reminds me of my own childhood. And now I am thankful of all those times my Dad dragged me to art galleries etc even if it was under protest as a child :)

I actually thought this may have been your Dad's shot, so well done to you.

almost more of an abstract than an urban landscape, but I love the image either way.

Commenting but of course not voting on Max's picture. I could confidently give an objective score (quirky enough for a 6 from me) but I'll avoid doing so.

I didn't see any of his pictures until we went home. I did point out a few scenes for him, but not this one. I'd never have noticed it.

Editing wise, I sat him down with Aperture and showed him how to round trip to the Nik products. He browsed the presets in Silver Efex Pro and HDR Effects Pro. This edit is The marvellous Granny's Attic in HDR Efex Pro. He then played with the global sliders a bit. There was a strong highlight in the centre of the picture that he didn't like so I showed him how to use a control point to reduce.

Other than that interface support - all of the choices you see here from capture to edit are his.

Let's see if his interest is maintained.

Very interesting shot. Would have liked to see a little more sharpness. I think I see the "Abstract Macro" in this shot. Could I be right? Very interesting.
