Goya's Gatewayby PGSadriComment by Pixelstate: Originally posted by PGSadri: Originally posted by mariuca: Beautifully done. I looked several times and tried to trim the wiggle on the left side that detracts the eye too much but all in all, a good shot and an excellent title.

Good, but not good enough for DCPChallenge haha. |
It's all subjective... especially in a challenge such as this one... |

Goya's Gatewayby PGSadriComment by Germaine: This was my choice for No. 1. The squiggle at the left is a tad distracting, but I can also interpret it as a leading line directing my eye to the light in the distance. I love the red squiggle in the distance. It's a red salamander about to do something mysterious.... Would be interesting to see this shot in b&W.
Well done! |

Crossing the streamsby PGSadriComment by LoVi: I go for this, as I spend a lot of time excitedly taking shots from the airplane whenever I fly anywhere at night. So I get the excitement part. I would call this a "light movement" technique. |

Never seen a bluer sky......by PGSadriComment by salmiakki: Greetings from the Critique Club
I notice you've not been a member very long at DPC and this was only your second challenge submission. Try not to get too disheartened by your score in this challenge.
The theme of this challenge was Blue Architecture. For most voters, this theme implies the building or structure should itself be blue and for sure I feel this is probably why you scored as low as you did. Had this been entered in a different challenge (eg pylons - which believe it or not was a challenge topic once!) it would not have scored so low.
I think the composition is strong and the angle you shot it at is interesting. I love the sun and lens flare that often comes with shooting directly into the sun. However, many DPC voters find that to be a technical flaw and will lower your score.
It was nice to see something a little bit out of the box in this challenge. I do like the image a lot, but am certain the majority of voters felt it did not adequately represent the challenge topic.
Keep on entering though!

Never seen a bluer sky......by PGSadriComment by pforg: For this theme I wanted to see actual blue architecture or the sky reflected
in the architecture like on windows not just a structure with blue sky around it. |
