Human Wine Aeratorby nstevens85Comment by JamesDowning: What a floater! Looks like a very messy image... actually not sure how you got it... must be a towel or some sort of taffy coming out of the wine bottle?
Might crop off some of the ground, as that isn't adding much. If the woman was looking at the man, or at the camera, it might be a bit stronger to me. |

Human Wine Aeratorby nstevens85Comment by Denielle: Nice shot. Not too fond of the shadowing on the walls behind the people, but I like the idea here. ANd please tell me that's a rag or something that LOOKS like the wine is being poured, otherwise, it could have been VERY messy!!!
Good attempt, however, I like it |

"Meet Your Maker"by nstevens85Comment by nstevens85: Originally posted by Teafran: If the author was going for an unsettling image, it makes it's point. I like the technique and I like the way the image was composed - I don't like the concept. Just being honest. I'm not anti-gun - quite the opposite in fact, but I am a combat veteran (Vietnam '67/'69) and "meeting your maker" has a meaning to me that isn't pleasant. But evaluation depends on more than just a dislike for the title - technically, it is a good image - I like the use of bokeh. |
Thanks for the comments. I was going for unsettling because i see those as the strongest euphemisms. I can understand how the concept would not work for many. |

"Meet Your Maker"by nstevens85Comment by nstevens85: Originally posted by JamesDowning: Quite a graphic image here, but true to the euphamism. Remind me not to rob your house! I really like the DOF and white background. I find the white spot on the side of his face a bit distracting though. I assume it's a glasses reflection? Overall solid shot, good comp. |
Yeah, i had glasses on at the time. That is a glass reflection. Ill have to watch for that more. |

"Meet Your Maker"by nstevens85Comment by nstevens85: Originally posted by sinistral_leo: Nice job, good perception. What is the black on the assailants face? shadow or his collar? Unfortunately the leading lines of the barrel lead my eyes right to that black spot.
PS. you should really get a shorter barrel for home defense... |
Yeah, the black is the coat collar. Its mostly used for trapshooting |
